November, 17, 2008— w.b. builders received a 2008 award for outstanding achievement in the category of “Entire House Under $250,000” at the twelfth annual Contractor of the Year (COTY) Awards ceremony on November 13. This is the third consecutive year that we have participated and received a COTY award.
A celebration of the best in Twin Cities residential remodeling, the COTY Awards affords an opportunity for the Minnesota remodeling industry to acknowledge the year’s accomplishments and to recognize individual successes. Hosted by the Minnesota chapter of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) and sponsored by Scherer Brothers Lumber Company, this year’s festivities drew more than 360 guests to the McNamara Alumni Center in Minneapolis.
With final scores based on photo submissions and project details, the contestants were judged by a panel of 25 remodeling professionals from the NARI of Milwaukee chapter. Competing with a record number of applicants in over 20 categories, w.b. builders is honored to be identified as a leader among this distinguished group of remodeling firms.
The 2008 COTY Awards recognized excellence in 21 categories: Residential Kitchen Under $60,000; Residential Kitchen $60,001-75,000; Residential Kitchen $75,001-90,000; Residential Kitchen $90,001-$120,000; Residential Kitchen Over $120,000; Residential Bath Under $30,000; Residential Bath $30,001-$60,000 Residential Bath Over $60,000; Residential Interior Under $150,000; Residential Interior Over $150,000; Residential Interior Specialty; Commercial Interior, Exterior, or Specialty; Residential Addition Under $200,000; Residential Addition Over $200,000; Residential Historical Renovation/Restoration; Residential Exterior; Entire House Under $250,000; Entire House $250,001-$500,000; Entire House over $500,000; Best Newcomer; Universal Design; Associate of the Year; and Best of Show.
NARI established the annual COTY Awards in 1997 to foster a sense of pride and accomplishment among its members through friendly competition, as well as to increase public awareness of NARI professionals. All local award recipients will be recognized in several local publications and on the NARI of Minnesota Web site (www.narimn.org), and many will also receive exposure in other regional and national publications.
NARI is a not-for-profit trade association committed to promoting the interests of its members within the remodeling industry, and to protecting the rights of its customers, the nation's homeowners. The only national association dedicated solely to the remodeling industry, NARI acts as an industry spokesgroup. NARI's long-standing tradition of community service and outreach originated with housing and relief programs of the 1930s and continues today with public education, legislative action, and charity work. |
